Reduction Rhinoplasty Surgery: Reshape Your Nose with Confidence

Reduction rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia by a board-certified cosmetic surgeon.

The procedure is done using either an open or closed approach:

• Open rhinoplasty: An incision is made on the columella (the tissue between the nostrils) to provide better access to the underlying nasal structures. This approach is preferred if correction in your case is complex.
• Closed rhinoplasty: All incisions are made inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scars. It is suitable for minor to moderate corrections.

During the surgery, the surgeon reshapes the nasal bones and cartilage to achieve your desired nose size and contours. If needed, your nose’s excess tissue will be refined to ensure a smoother and proportionate look.

Post-operative care of septorhinoplasty:

• Wear a nasal splint for the first week to support healing.
• Manage swelling with cold compresses and keep your head elevated.

Post-surgery, you can expect some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which gradually reduces in 3 to 4 weeks. A nasal splint is attached for the first week to support your nose as it heals. Full results become evident as swelling diminishes,  within 9 to 12 months.
