Lower Body Lift | Belt Lipectomy

About the process

Dramatic weight loss, hormonal changes and weight loss due to pregnancy leaves your skin saggy and with creases. It does not look too good. There are procedures that can help to tighten your skin and you will be left with a tight body contour.

What is the Procedure

How is a lower body lift procedure performed?

After discussing about your weight issues with your surgeon, the doctor will recommend the type of surgery you should undertake. Depending on your weight, skin elasticity, age, the surgeon will discuss the benefits, risks, and side effects involved with the surgery.

A complete lower body lift has the advantage of treating the buttocks, abdomen, waist, hips and thighs in one procedure. The length and the pattern of incisions will depend on how much extra skin needs to be removed and the location of the skin.

The process starts with an incision that your surgeon will make that will extend around your torso area. The surgeon will thus remove the excess skin and fat below the incision and reposition and tighten your tissues. The remaining skin in of your buttocks and thighs will be pulled upward and your skin and underlying tissues will be  tightened. During this part of the procedure, you will be  positioned on your tummy or side.  After your back and sides are addressed,  you will be positioned on your back so the surgeon can treat your front side . The surgeon can opt for two options,  one combination of lower body lift with abdominal contouring,; and other tummy tuck.

Another option is combining the lower body lift with an inner thigh lift. The incisions will be closed with sutures. Deep support sutures within the underlying tissues help to form the newly shaped contours.

Post Surgery Scars:

The scar will fade away after a few weeks times. However, there might be some swelling and redness after the surgery but will fade away in no time. Proper diet and light exercises is a must to maintain the contour of the skin your entire life.
